"Suspected militants this afternoon threw a grenade towards a patrol party of paramilitary troopers belonging to Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) in main market here. "However, of the wounded one succumbed while being taken to Srinagar for specialized treatment," he added. The slain civilian was an ice-cream vendor.
Pedestrians helped the wounded to reach a medical facility in the town.
